L'autore

The author

Paolo Mele è nato e cresciuto a Roma. Ingegnere informatico, lavora da oltre vent'anni nel settore della tecnologia e dell'innovazione digitale. Negli ultimi dieci anni ha contribuito alla progettazione di sistemi di intelligenza artificiale per grandi organizzazioni europee, osservando da vicino come il rapporto tra uomini e macchine stia cambiando il modo in cui viviamo, lavoriamo e immaginiamo il futuro.

Da sempre appassionato di fantascienza, è affascinato dalle grandi domande che accompagnano il progresso: da dove veniamo, cosa ci rende umani e quale eredità lasciamo a chi verrà dopo di noi. Molte di queste riflessioni hanno trovato spazio nelle pagine di questo libro.

Appassionato di musica elettronica fin dai tempi dei vinili, è DJ e produttore. «Da capo» è nato come musica prima ancora che come libro, e qualcosa di quel suono continua ad abitarne le pagine.

Paolo Mele was born and raised in Rome. A software engineer, he has worked for over twenty years in technology and digital innovation. In the last ten years he has helped design artificial-intelligence systems for large European organizations, watching at close range how the relationship between humans and machines is changing the way we live, work, and imagine the future.

A lifelong science-fiction enthusiast, he is fascinated by the great questions that accompany progress: where we come from, what makes us human, and what legacy we leave to those who come after us. Many of these reflections found their way into the pages of this book.

A lover of electronic music since the days of vinyl, he is a DJ and producer. Da capo began as music before it was a book, and something of that sound still lives in its pages.

Da capo is his first book.
